Formation Mechanisms of Excess Dissolved Gases in High-Voltage Transformers and Application of Online Oil Purification

During long-term transformer operation, the concentration of dissolved gases in insulating oil serves as a key indicator of internal equipment conditions. Gas generation is typically associated with localized overheating, insulation aging, or minor discharge events. When gas levels exceed acceptable ranges, they may compromise insulation performance and signal potential faults.

Online oil purification systems integrate vacuum degassing and circulation filtration to enable continuous oil treatment during operation. The core mechanism involves reducing the partial pressure of gases under vacuum conditions, allowing dissolved gases to be released from the liquid phase. These systems are equipped with stable circulation pumps and sealed structures to ensure that oil processing does not interfere with the normal operation of the transformer.

In practical applications, such systems are commonly used for transformers rated between 110 kV and 750 kV. Processing capacity can be configured according to site requirements, typically within a range of 1000–6000 L/h. For equipment operating under high load or elevated temperature conditions, purification units with temperature-controlled heating and automated control systems are recommended to maintain process stability.

With appropriate system configuration, online purification enables continuous management of oil quality without altering the existing operational framework, thereby reducing the need for unplanned maintenance.
